All about me!

Hello world! You can call me Hucco or Lotus, and I'm just a lazy Malaysian-Chinese gal pursuing a Bachelor's in marine science! I was born in the year of horse, which apparently makes me terrible with money and also stubborn to a fault (I mean, you could have guessed by the fact that I decided to pursue marine science as a profession, lol).I love trying different foods, borrowing books from the university library and exploring cultural sites! Legally, I'm a Buddhist, but my family actually practices Chinese folk religion, something I am keen on exploring in my art.

What is this site about?

Are you not tired of the corporate overlords subjecting us to their whims? Are you not tired of jumping from site to site with each announcement of a policy change, an algorithm change, or a big tech company feeding our hard work into generative AI models without consent? Are you not tired of competing with millions just for your art to be seen, of feeling more like a product than a person, of drowning in the constant overstimulation of trends and challenges in the echo-chamber of hype and pretension?

Where is your anger? Where is your rage? RISE. RISE. RISE. RISE.

...Oops. Think I got a little ahead of myself there, but I mean every word of what I said. I am tired of being a subject to whatever social media platform is trending at the moment, then being unable to stay as all my friends have moved onto the next. It's tiring, and I miss my friends, and I hate having to maintain a presence of multiple places only for them to become obsolete once the next cycle comes around. Is this not reminiscent of samsara, a cycle of suffering and change with no true peace of mind?

I made this site for myself because I want to be free from that. I want to be able to express myself freely without having to modulate my personality for the masses. I want to return to being creative, to focusing on my art and the story I try to express with it. I want to break free from this constant performance of imitating human connection.
